Economic Evaluation of Magmeal for Quail Feed as a Remunerative Poultry Feed in India

Background: Maggot meal, popularly magmeal is a core product consisting of dried defatted larvae that ground into high protein meal. It potential alternative for fish replacement in the diet quails. Methods: A study on 240 Japanese quail birds from day old to six week age was conducted at Poultry Research Station, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai with supplementation during year 2015-16. The were divided four groups and each having three replicates 20 replicate. Group 1 (Control group) fed basal (with 7% meal), group 2 replacing 50% meal magmeal, 3 75% 4 100% magmeal. Economic evaluation various levels inclusion calculated. Result: There sizeable reduction cost production all treatment when compared control group. concluded feed containing found be effective than fishmeal
